Create a ConveyThis account here. Your ConveyThis account dashboard lets you view and manage all your translations.

Configure Your Integration

Select JavaScript as your website technology. Enter your domain name and indicate the languages you want to translate your website into. Click "Next" to proceed through the setup steps.

Copy and Install JavaScript Code

Copy the JavaScript code snippet that appears on your screen (with your unique API key). Paste it into the <head> section of your PrestaShop theme files, just before the closing </head> tag. See detailed integration guide.

Test and Optimize Your Store

Visit your website to see the language switcher appear at the bottom right (may take a few minutes). Manage your store translations, set up Glossary for product terms, configure Excluded Pages, enable auto-redirection, and explore advanced e-commerce features.

PrestaShop translation: common questions

Which PrestaShop file does the ConveyThis snippet go in?

The theme template that PrestaShop prints inside the page <head>. In the Classic theme that is templates/_partials/head.tpl; paste the snippet at the end of it, save, then open Advanced Parameters → Performance and click Clear cache so the change goes live. If you would rather not edit theme files, a developer can load the same code from a module. Get the snippet with the JavaScript setup guide.

How is this different from PrestaShop's built-in languages?

PrestaShop adds a language when you import a localization pack under International → Localization, and International → Translations adjusts the interface wording that volunteer translators maintain for the project. Neither writes your product names, descriptions or CMS pages. ConveyThis translates those from your default language as shoppers view them, so you do not have to write each translation yourself.

Can customer names, addresses and order references stay untranslated?

Yes. Add the conveythis-no-translate class to the elements in your templates that show them, and they are skipped. To leave out whole sections of the shop, such as the customer account area, add an excluded-page rule: Start matches every URL beginning with a path, Equal matches one page. Both are described in excluding segments.

Can a translator review my shop without a PrestaShop back-office account?

Yes, on the Pro plan and above. Invite them to your site in ConveyThis as a Translator, who can edit wording in the visual editor, add glossary rules and download CSV or TMX files, or as a Manager, who can also upload files, set exclusions and invite translators. None of them needs a PrestaShop employee login. The team guide lists every permission.

Can my PrestaShop store use fr. or /fr/ addresses?

Both are possible on the Business plan or higher. We recommend fr.yourshop.com-style sub-domains, one CNAME record apiece, because your PrestaShop server keeps answering for the main domain. Folders like yourshop.com/fr/ require the domain's A record to point at ConveyThis, which puts the whole shop behind our servers. Either way, hreflang is handled for you; the URL structure guide has the records.
