ConveyThis vs Webflow Localization: the short answer

If your site is only on Webflow and you need a few locales, Webflow Localization is the obvious choice. It is built into the Designer: you switch to a locale, see the page as visitors in that market will see it, adjust text, CMS items, styles and (on Advanced) images, and publish. Every tier serves locales in subdirectories with a localized sitemap and hreflang tags, and Advanced translates your URL slugs.

ConveyThis is the better choice when you add more languages, more people or more platforms. Webflow prices Localize per locale, so ten languages on Advanced cost $290 a month billed yearly, while ConveyThis Optimum covers fourteen languages for $160. Webflow lists a translation glossary only on Enterprise, and ConveyThis includes glossary rules and translation memory. ConveyThis also works the same way on your Webflow marketing site, your Shopify store and your WordPress blog.

ConveyThis has limits that Webflow's add-on does not: every ConveyThis plan caps translated words and monthly page loads, and translated URL slugs are not on our pricing page. The rest of this page puts those trade-offs side by side.

Pricing: per locale against per plan

Webflow multiplies a per-locale price by the number of locales you publish. ConveyThis sells a plan that includes a number of languages. The two ladders cross after about three languages.

The two "words" figures in the table measure different things. Webflow's is an AI-translation allowance per locale that renews each month; ConveyThis's is the translated-word allowance of the plan. A Webflow site with 20,000 words per locale will use up Essential's AI allowance in its first month and then has to finish by hand or move up a tier. A ConveyThis plan has to hold the site's words across all its languages. ConveyThis also counts monthly page loads (15,000 on Starter, 50,000 on Business, 500,000 on Optimum), and Webflow's Localize add-on lists no traffic limit of its own. Count your words and check your analytics before you pick either.

Both products assume you already pay for Webflow hosting. Localize is an add-on to a site plan, and ConveyThis on a Webflow site runs alongside that plan.

How we scored them

Every comparison on this site uses the same five weighted criteria, published on our comparison methodology page. Scores are out of five; the weighted total is the sum of score × weight.

Criterion (weight)ConveyThisWebflow LocalizationWhy
Website deployment (30%)45Webflow Localization is part of the Designer: add a locale, preview it, publish. ConveyThis installs on Webflow with a snippet in minutes, but it is a second system alongside your Webflow project.
Localization workflow (25%)44Webflow lets you localize styles, alt text, CMS items and, on higher tiers, images and element visibility, and connects to TMS partner apps. ConveyThis adds glossary rules and translation memory on its standard plans, team roles and CSV/TMX import. Different strengths, similar depth.
Multilingual SEO (20%)45Both serve language URLs with hreflang and translated metadata. Webflow's Advanced tier also localizes URL slugs; ConveyThis's pricing page does not list translated slugs.
Cost model (15%)43The two are level for one to three languages. From five languages up, per-locale pricing costs more than ConveyThis's plans, and more than ten locales needs a Webflow Enterprise quote. ConveyThis loses a point for its monthly page-load caps.
Governance (10%)44Webflow controls publishing per locale and offers publishing workflows and audit features on its Team and Enterprise plans. ConveyThis offers team roles and an enterprise tier. Equal on what we can verify.
Weighted total4.004.354×0.30 + 4×0.25 + 4×0.20 + 4×0.15 + 4×0.10 against 5×0.30 + 4×0.25 + 5×0.20 + 3×0.15 + 4×0.10.

Webflow Localization scores higher for a site that is only on Webflow, because it is native and translates slugs. ConveyThis costs less once you need more than a few languages. If price per language matters more to you than 15%, redo the sum with the scores in the table.

Where Webflow Localization is the better choice

Choose Webflow's own add-on, or stay on it, if one of these applies to you:

  • Your site is only on Webflow and will stay there. With localization inside the Designer, your team keeps working in one tool and pays one bill.
  • Each market needs its own design changes. Webflow localizes typography and styles on every tier, images per locale from Advanced and element visibility on Enterprise. ConveyThis translates text and images but follows the original layout.
  • You need translated URL slugs. Webflow Advanced localizes slugs natively. ConveyThis's pricing page does not list translated slugs.
  • You need one to three locales. At this size the two cost about the same, and the native option is more convenient.
  • Your site is busy but small. Webflow's Localize add-on lists no page-view limit of its own. ConveyThis counts monthly page loads on every plan.

Where ConveyThis is the better choice

  • You need many languages. Ten Webflow locales cost $290 a month on Advanced billed yearly. ConveyThis Optimum covers fourteen languages for $160, and Corporate covers twenty for $240. Above ten locales Webflow asks you to contact sales, while ConveyThis publishes its prices up to 100 languages.
  • Brand and product names must stay consistent. ConveyThis includes glossary rules and translation memory. Webflow lists its custom translation glossary on Enterprise only and does not state translation memory.
  • Your translators work outside your Webflow workspace. ConveyThis team roles let a freelancer or an agency edit translations without a seat in your Webflow workspace.
  • You run more than one platform. A Webflow marketing site, a Shopify store and a WordPress help center can share one ConveyThis account, one glossary and one set of translators.
  • You already paid for translations. ConveyThis imports CSV and TMX files on every plan, including Free.
  • You want the widest choice of languages. ConveyThis supports 210 languages and lets you edit every sentence in a visual editor on the live page. The Webflow pages we read do not publish a language count for its AI translation.

Adding ConveyThis to a Webflow site

If you choose ConveyThis, or want to try it next to Webflow's own locales on a staging site, there are five steps.

  1. Create a free ConveyThis account and add your Webflow domain.
  2. Paste the ConveyThis snippet into your Webflow project's custom code, as the Webflow integration guide shows.
  3. Pick your languages and let ConveyThis translate static pages and CMS content.
  4. Add glossary rules for brand and product names, then review your main pages in the visual editor.
  5. If you are leaving Webflow locales, keep the same language paths where you can, and add 301 redirects in Webflow for any localized slug that changes.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Webflow Localization cost?

Webflow Localize is an add-on to a Webflow site plan, priced per locale. On 28 September 2026 Webflow listed Essential at $9 per locale per month billed yearly ($12 billed monthly) for up to 3 locales, and Advanced at $29 per locale per month billed yearly ($35 billed monthly) for up to 10 locales. Enterprise is custom. ConveyThis plans start at $12 a month for one language and are priced by translated words, languages and domains.

Does Webflow Localization translate automatically?

Yes. Webflow lists native AI-powered translation with 10,000 words per locale per month on Essential and 50,000 words per locale per month on Advanced, plus manual translation and partner translation apps. ConveyThis translates the whole site automatically up to the word allowance of your plan, from 30,000 words on Starter to 10,000,000 on Extreme.

Does Webflow Localization translate URL slugs?

Yes, on Advanced and Enterprise. Webflow's pricing table lists localized URLs as not included on Essential. Every tier serves locales in subdirectories and generates a localized sitemap with hreflang tags. ConveyThis's pricing page does not list translated URL slugs.

Can I use ConveyThis on a Webflow site?

Yes. ConveyThis installs on Webflow with a snippet, translates static pages and CMS content automatically, and serves each language with hreflang and translated meta tags. The Webflow integration guide covers installation.

Which one is cheaper for many languages?

ConveyThis, once you pass a few locales. Ten Webflow locales on Advanced cost $290 a month billed yearly; ConveyThis Optimum covers 14 languages and 1,000,000 words for $160 a month. For one to three locales the two cost about the same, and Webflow keeps everything inside the Designer.
