OpenCart needs no extension for ConveyThis. In the admin, Design → Theme Editor lets you override the common/header template, and the snippet goes just before its closing </head> tag. Create ConveyThis Account

Create a ConveyThis account here. Your ConveyThis account dashboard lets you view and manage all your translations.

Configure Your Integration

Select OpenCart as your website technology. Enter your domain name and indicate the languages you want to translate your website into. Click "Next" to proceed through the setup steps.

Install via Theme Editor

Log into OpenCart and navigate to Design > Theme Editor. In the "Choose a template" section, find common > header.twig and insert the ConveyThis code snippet right before </head>. Save changes.

Test and Manage

Visit your website to see the language switcher appear at the bottom right (may take a few minutes). Test the functionality and manage all your store translations through the ConveyThis dashboard.

OpenCart multilingual store: common questions

How do I add ConveyThis to OpenCart?

Create a ConveyThis account, choose OpenCart, and enter your domain and languages. In the OpenCart admin go to Design → Theme Editor, select your store, open the common/header template and paste the snippet right before </head>. Save; the switcher shows up bottom-right within a few minutes. In OpenCart 4 the Theme Editor keeps your change in the database, so it can be reverted from the same screen. The OpenCart setup guide has screenshots.

Do I still need OpenCart language packs?

Not for your shoppers. Language packs and System → Localisation → Languages are OpenCart's native route, where each language you add needs its own product, category and information text. With ConveyThis your store can keep a single installed language while visitors choose from the languages on your plan, out of 210 supported. The admin area stays as it is, since the Theme Editor only changes storefront templates.

Is text from OpenCart extensions and modules translated?

Yes, whenever it appears on a storefront page. Featured-product modules, banners, filters, the shopping-cart dropdown and review forms are translated like the rest of the page, including text an extension loads after the page has opened. If a module shows something that must stay in the original language, wrap it in an element with the conveythis-no-translate class.

Some of my catalog is already translated. Can I bring those translations in?

Yes, and importing is free on every plan. Save them as a two-column CSV (original text, then translation) or as a TMX file, open Translation Management → CSV/TMX for your domain in ConveyThis, choose the source and target languages and upload. Letting ConveyThis scan the store first gives the best matches. See importing and exporting translations.

Will Google index each language of my OpenCart store?

It can, once each language has its own address, which needs the Business plan or higher. Language sub-domains such as it.yourshop.com are the easy path: add one CNAME per language and your OpenCart server keeps serving the main domain. The alternative, /it/ folders, means pointing your domain's A record at ConveyThis. Translated titles, meta descriptions and hreflang tags come with both.
